Flawed Madagascar Sunset Moth Wing necklace

Sold Out

Pendant itself is just over an inch in diameter, containing a preserved Madagascar sunset moth forewing. Flawed due to small bubble on front of pendant, large fogged bubble on back (which is just me being particular, as the back isn't really meant to be on display).

Chain: 18" with lobster clasp, stainless silver metal alloy.
Pendant materials: Stainless silver metal alloy, preserved wing, UV resin.

ETHICS NOTE: All specimens are ethically sourced. This means different things to different folks, so let's break it down.

-Bones. From animals that are either found myself or gifted by a friend, dissected by me from owl pellets, OR purchased from a farm owner in NJ who lovingly collects things like road kill, and buries on her property until the bones are ready (I then purchase and clean myself).

-Wings and insects. Again, either found naturally deceased by myself or friends, OR purchased from one or two small businesses that partner with sanctuaries and breeding programs. Every insect passes naturally, I will not purchase anything ever killed for the sake of a specimen.

-Webs. Purchased from a lovely person in central MA who preserves orb weaver webs. She only takes abandoned webs.

-Stones. More of a grey area but I do my best. I have a large collection that I sourced myself in Virginia, and I also purchase from gem shows, asking sellers source questions first.
